Women's OB/GYN

OB/GYN is an area in which custom compounding has always been able to benefit the practitioner and patient greatly.  Some of the areas in which we have formulated compounds are:

Bacterial-Fungal (parasite)

We compound several formulas that contain antibiotics, friendly bacterias, etc.  All of these can be compounded in almost any base, i.e., creams, gels or ointments.  They can also be provided with easy to use applicators to disposable unit-dose preloaded applicators.

  • Tinidazole (for bacteria and fungus)
  • Flagyl-suspension/capsules
  • Albendazole/Secnidazole
  • Tape worm tablets-Mebendazole

Yeast infections (Candida)

Both systemic and local treatment is often necessary with:

  • Boric acid caps
  • Nystatin Cream pre-loaded syringes (can have a dual syringe with one of friendly bacteria)
  • Friendly bacteria suppositories and gels/creams
  • Any proprietary anti-fungal can be made into a vaginal preparation such as clotrimazole and other imidazoles

Lubricants

Post menopausal vaginal dryness is the number two complaint we hear of.  The proper balancing of hormones often helps and many times we suggest applying the topical estrogen/progesterone cream vaginally.  We also often suggest the intravaginal application of our NOW cream in these situations, which can at the same time stimulate the nitric oxide receptor sites on the G Spot.

Hormones

All sex hormones can be compounded into topical and intravaginal preparations in all strengths and combinations.  Testosterone is one of the most overlooked hormones in treating the peri and postmenopausal patient.

We can make suggestions on strengths we compound for physicians and on what can be combined with all the other hormones.  Suggested doses are 1 to 6mg daily.
